SCENIC PAINTER

The Pride of Wade Ellison is a period western which tells the story of the strained relationship between a father and son as they face injustice and fight to gain each other's respect.

This AWARD WINNING NFTS Short was shot on location in the fun western town of Laredo http://www.laredo.org.uk/fac.html and the beautiful surrounding wilderness.

Production Designer Chloe Kletsa headed up the Art department team, taking us back to the early Americas with this one room country shack.

Originally built and painted at the NFTS studios in Beaconsfield, then transported to location to add the finishing touches and dress, as the beaten down, forgotten home of Wade Ellison.

Attention to detail was paramount. Subtle paint finishes were added to each and every crevice and fixing. Westerns are definitely a lot of fun when it comes to props, with an array of Remingtons, Enfields, and Colts, we were certainly packing. Patchwork quilts, copper pans, Waggon wheels, and even a couple of chickens had to find their place.
